This event and the Rotary sales of the parade buttons are the sole fund raisers for the parade. We appreciate your support!
The Fireworks sponsored by The Hingham
Lions Club are Sunday July 1st, 2007 at the Hingham Bathing Beach. Start
time is approximately 9:00pm. All Boats must be
anchored in the Harbor by 8:00pm.
Raindate is Monday, July 2nd.

9:00 am - Come to an Open House at the
Old Ship Meeting House for an hour before and after the Parade. Townspeople
can enjoy and see and learn more about this historic building and national
treasure. There will be people to answer questions and share information from
the Historic Structure Report (4 volumes!) that The Friends of the Old Ship
Meeting House just presented to the Hingham Library and the Community Preservation
Committee, which provided funding for the Report. Old Ship belongs to all of
Hingham, and this will be an opportunity for the community to enjoy it. Located
at 90 Main Street.
10:00am- THE PARADE!!! This year's theme is "Preserve the Tradition". Start at Hingham High School (Pleasant Street) end at Station Street. YOUR FLOAT WANTED & NEEDED!!!!! What wonderful way to create some GREAT memories! Please consider having your group, club, neighborhood create a float and participate in the parade. There are prizes for different categories. NOTICE TO RESIDENTS
Parade Detour
On Wednesday July 4th, 2007 there will be no parking on the following streets between 6am and 1pm.
North Street from Station Street to Main Street.
Station Street “In area of Hingham Sewer Dept. building”
Main Street from the Square to Cold Corner
Spring Street
School Street
Pleasant Street from Main Street to School St
Middle Street
Parade Route
Parade will start at 10 am from the Hingham High School on Pleasant St., travel East on Pleasant St., turn left onto Middle St. and will head North on Main St. to Hingham Square. Parade will turn right onto North St. and finish at Station St. at approximately 12 noon.
Detour Route
Rt. 228 will detour from 9:40 am until approximately 11:20am.
South bound Rt. 228 traffic on East St. will detour left onto Spring St., straight onto School St. right onto Pleasant St., left onto Union St., right onto Free St., left onto Main Street Rt. 228. End of detour.
North bound Rt. 228 traffic will turn right onto Free St., left onto Union St., right onto Pleasant St., left onto School to Spring St. and right onto East St. Rt. 228. End of detour.
Pleasant St. will be “one way only” heading in an easterly
direction from Main St. towards Middle Street starting at 7:30am July 4th.
Pleasant St. will only be used for parade personnel. “Large floats will be parking on the southerly side of Pleasant Street”.
