Ice Rescue

	Class room training before going to the pond to practice. The firefighters get instruction in the use of Ice Rescue equipment. The suit is a water proof work suit designed for water or ice rescue. The instructor is Lt. Dave Levenson, Hingham Fire Dive Team Leader.
	FF Bill Schneider dons the Water/Ice Rescue suit.
	Two men in the Rescue suits, roped off for safety. We always work in pairs.
	Man in the hole. We need to learn how to rescue ourselves as well as others.
	Using ice picks to rescue himself.
	Rescuing a victim in the water. The rescuer is roping off the victim to secure him to the life line the shore party will use to pull the two men from the hole.
	Victim is out of hole and rescuer getting ready to come out.

	The Shore Party is important to the success of the rescue. They maintain the lifelines and provide the man power to haul the lines. They also control entry to the rescue area for accountability and safety.
