2022 - Master Plan

The Town has awarded the development of a new Master Plan specific for Hingham Harbor to the firm Beals and Thomas, Inc (B+T).  This plan is to complement and extend the 2020 Town Master Plan as well as other recent studies, with the goal to create a detailed vision for the harbor for the next 10 years.  Regan Andreola, B+T’s senior landscape architect, will be leading the project along with the Harbor Development Committee and Town Planner and Engineer..

The purpose of this project is to thoughtfully develop a Master Plan which will provide a cohesive and signature Hingham Harbor look; includes programming and spaces to attract users of all ages and abilities; and can be developed in phases that are aligned with the town’s needs and resources. Input from the community, harbor landowners and businesses, as well as municipal organizations will be critical to ensuring the end result is inclusive of various views and priorities.

Our goal is to engage as many people as possible to identify potential ideas and possibilities which will enhance our treasured harbor. If you would like to speak with someone from our Harbor Development Committee separately to discuss and brainstorm specific ideas contact Amy Cowan, member of the Harbor Development Committee at amy.cowan@me.com.

The Committee’s goal is to have the New Master Plan for Hingham Harbor completed by the 2022 Fall Town Meeting.
