Board of Selectmen
The Selectmen issue the warrants for Town Meetings; initiate legislative policy by inserting articles in Town Meeting Warrants; and then implement the votes subsequently adopted.

Building Department
The Hingham Building Department is responsible for administration and enforcement of the Massachusetts State Building Code, Electrical, Plumbing and Architectural Access Codes, the Hingham Zoning By-Law and general by-laws of the town.

Community Planning
The Community Planning Department is an administrative unit of Town government including staff and department heads from the Building, Zoning, Planning, Conservation and Historic Departments.

Conservation Commission
The Commission is entrusted with the stewardship of over 1,000 acres of conservation land and addresses natural resource issues of the town and region.

Historical Commission
The Hingham Historical Commission is the town's agency responsible for identifying, evaluating and protecting the historic, architectural and archaeological assets within the town.

The Personnel Board is responsible for the administration of the Town’s Personnel By-Law, which includes the Town’s Classification and Salary Plan.
