South Shore Conservatory, the region’s largest community school for the arts, announces open registration for its two summer sessions of Music Together®.

The first six-week summer sessions begins June 6 at SSC’s Hingham and Duxbury campuses, and at satellite sites located at South Shore Community Center in Cohasset and Church Hill United Methodist Church in Norwell. The second summer session begins July 10 and runs at the Cohasset location only. This popular, nationally-recognized program serves babies, toddlers and preschool children, between the ages of zero to four, accompanied by a caregiver. Music Together classes encourage families to become musical together. Children and adults discover the transformative power of musical play through song, dance and instruments. The joyful Music Together environment not only provides the gift of music, but also creates connections that can last a lifetime. Studies have shown that children who participate in music early in life often excel in math and reading later in life.

South Shore Conservatory’s campuses are located at the Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street, Duxbury, and at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. Satellite classes are offered at the South Shore Community Center, 3 North Main Street, Cohasset and Church Hill United Methodist Church, 11 Church Street, Norwell. Music Together students registered for the summer session at any location may also attend SSC’s four Wacky Wednesdays family concerts in the Jane Carr Amphitheater, Hingham, for free. Concerts for the 2018 season include Karen K and the Jitterbugs on July 11, Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys on July 18, Debbie and Friends on July 25 and SSC’s ImagineARTS Band on August 1. Wacky Wednesdays family concert series is sponsored by The Harold and Avis Goldstein Trust. The media partner for the series is WATD, 95.9 FM.
