Hingham SEPAC Meeting

Meeting Agenda

1. Call to Order

2. Motion to amend Article VIII of the bylaws to be consistent with the

Attorney General's recent determination that SEPAC's are generally

not subject to the Open Meeting Law (OML 2021-150); the proposed

amended bylaw is as follows:

a. Article VIII: Meetings

i. Meetings are open to the SEPAC membership and may

include guests invited by the SEPAC officers. There will

be no fewer than five (5) Hingham SEPAC meetings

during the school year. The school district is required to

hold at least one workshop annually on the rights and

responsibilities of parents/guardians and students in

special education and the SEPAC officers shall cooperate

with the district to hold that workshop. Reasonable

attempts shall be made to notify the membership of all

meetings including the time, location, and proposed

topic(s) for the meeting. Separate from the membership

meetings, SEPAC officers will also regularly meet with the

Director of Student Services

This meeting is being held remotely as an alternate means of public access pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021 temporarily amending certain provisions of the Open Meeting Law.  You are hereby advised that this meeting and all communications during this meeting may be recorded by the Town of Hingham in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.  If any participant wishes to record this meeting, please notify the chair at the start of the meeting in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30A, § 20(f) so that the chair may inform all other participants of said recording.
