Update 8/12 - Construction Notice: Beal Street Postponed, Tentative Start August 21
Scotland Street and Polk Road August 15, 18-20
The Town of Hingham has updated scheduling for the reconstruction of the following roadways:
Beal Street
Southbound Lane between Fottler Road and Churchill Road
August 21 (Tentative)
- One direction of traffic will be detoured to Route 3A as directed by the Hingham Police Department.
- Local traffic to Backriver Road will be permitted to pass. Either Beals Cove Road or Tuckers Lane will remain open throughout construction.
Scotland Street and Polk Road
August 15th, 18th-20th
- Contractors are authorized to mobilize and begin construction activities beginning at 7:00 AM on August 13th. We will attempt to maintain access to affected properties throughout the duration of work. Typical daily work hours are from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM, but may vary depending on working conditions on a given day.
All scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions and subject to change. Please be sure to check our Town’s website for any updates to this schedule.
You may experience travel delays during this time. On‐street parking will not be permitted from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, within the vicinity of construction activity.
Please seek guidance from available representatives (Police/DPW/Engineering Staff) that will be onsite during the work. We apologize for any inconvenience.
