[ARCHIVED] 50 Flags Campaign for the 4th of July Parade

Our goal for 2021 is to place 20,000 flags throughout the town, making this July 4th a truly memorable year! The parade is back and will commence at 10:00 am on Sunday July 4th!  This campaign is the top fundraising source of the 4th of July parade, an annual expense of approximately $55,000. No tax dollars are allocated to the parade, we count on fundraisers, sponsorships, and private donations to make the parade such a great success.

When you donate to the 50 Flags Campaign, you receive a beautiful flag display installed at your home, a friend’s home, or your favorite veteran’s home, for the 2 weeks surrounding the 4th of July. This year we have 2 options for flag installations: $75 for 50 flags or $45 for 25 flags.

The 50 Flags Campaign will be for a 2-week period: installations will be June 26th/27th and removals will be July 10th/11th.

The installations are labor intensive, and we rely on volunteers from Hingham High School sports teams: football, girls soccer, field hockey, track and crew. Also, South Shore SNAP, Hingham Youth Football, and citizens of the town help in this effort.

80% of the gross proceeds from your generous flag rental donations will go towards growing our flag inventory, while funding the 2022 July 4th parade. The balance will go to the youth volunteer groups that helped with the installations and removals of the flags.

Flag rental donations can be made online through the Town's Online Donation Center. Select the '50 Flags Campaign' link and it will allow you to select an installation of 50 flags ($75) or 25 flags ($45), for yourself or someone else. Thank you for your support!

Please show your Patriotism and help support the parade and Hingham’s great youth programs!

Thank you.
