The Hingham Parade Committee is reaching out to potential Grand Marshals at this year’s 4th of July Parade!
This year’s parade theme is “Heroes Among Us.” We wanted to recognize, honor and show our gratitude to the many frontline workers like yourself who have worked, and continue to work, tireless hours battling the life-changing coronavirus pandemic. This includes doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, grocery store workers, restaurant staff, teachers, nursing home staff, therapists, utility workers, policemen, firemen, EMTs, military personnel, scientists and researchers, janitors, sanitation workers, bus drivers, truck drivers, pilots, mailmen, parcel delivery drivers, government officials, and clergy members - to name only a few.
The Hingham Fourth of July Parade Committee would like to formally invite you and any front line workers in your organization to participate in the parade as our grand marshals on Sunday, July 4th, at 10AM, in Hingham. Front-line workers are invited to walk the parade route behind the Grand Marshal banner, where spectators will be able to show their appreciation for your service. If you or any of your colleagues are interested in walking the parade route, please complete the Hero Registration Form available at the Hingham website. All interested Heroes are asked to register to walk in the parade.
Even if these roles don’t apply to you, chances are that you know someone they do apply to and we ask that you encourage them to walk the parade, allowing the spectators to express their appreciation. See you on the 4th!
