Weather events have significantly impacted our scheduling and may continue to cause delays. Our tentative schedule, subject to change, is as follows. The Town of Hingham Engineering Department will be microsurfacing the entire length or sections of the following roads.

August 9 - 11

The Town of Hingham Engineering Department will be applying a first coat of microsurfacing to the entire length or sections of the following roads August 9th, 2023:
- Elm Street
- Plymouth River Road
We will apply a second coat of microsurfacing to the entire length or sections of the following roads August 9th, 2023:
- Crooked Meadow Lane
- Marshall Road
- Thayer Street
- Emerald Street
- Willow Circle
- Downing Street
- Sunset Lane
- Cape Cod Lane
On August 10th, the following roads will receive a first coat of microsurfacing:
- Bradley Hill Road
- Bremer Circle
- Lincoln Street (at Bradley Hill Road)
- Pond Street
- Pleasant Street
- Stoddard Road
- Meadowview Road
On August 10th, the following roads will receive a second coat of microsurfacing:
On August 11th, the following roads will receive a second coat of microsurfacing:
- Bradley Hill Road
- Bremer Circle
- Lincoln Street (at Bradley Hill Road)
- Pond Street
- Pleasant Street
- Stoddard Road
- Meadowview Road
- Plymouth River Road
The curing time for each application can be up to two hours. The roads will be reopened on a rolling basis once the application has cured. All scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions and subject to change.
You will experience travel delays during this time. On-street parking will not be permitted from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is important that you avoid on-street parking until this project is complete. Vehicles which interfere with this project will be removed.
August 13-16 - Night Work

- Leavitt Street (East Street to Short Street)
- Short Street (Leavitt Street to Main Street)
- Main Street (Short Street to 373 Main Street)
- Wompatuck Road (Kimball Beach Road to End)
The application process requires two (2) coats of microsurfacing emulsion applied a minimum of 24 hours apart. The application of the first coat will begin at 7:00 PM on August 13th and continue on a rolling basis through the night of August 14th. Upon completion of application of the first coat, the work crew will return to their point of beginning to apply the second coat. The work will continue until all locations have received a second coat, concluding on or before the morning of August 17th. The curing time for each application can be up to two hours. The roads will be reopened on a rolling basis once the application has cured. All scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions and subject to change. Please follow the directions of our detail officers in directing traffic around our work zone. On-street parking will not be permitted from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. It is important that you avoid on-street parking until this project is complete. Vehicles which interfere with this project will be removed.

Vehicle access to your property (driveways-parking etc.) will be prohibited during certain times while the work is underway, please seek guidance from available representatives (Police/DPW/Engineering Staff) that will be onsite during the work. We apologize for any inconvenience.
