Dear Hingham Residents,
This is a monthly update from my office that I hope will prove helpful for residents to stay informed. To receive this update and other important Town news via email, please subscribe to *Hingham General News and Announcements*. As always, please reach out with questions and feedback.
I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the holiday season. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect on how grateful I am to serve this community. Along with the holiday season, comes budget season. All Town departments are hard at work keeping up with regular business while planning for FY25.
FY25 Budgets
We are using the newly implemented budgeting software, ClearGov, to facilitate efficiency and transparency this budget season. Departmental budgets will be reviewed at Select Board meetings starting in December and January (Dec 19, Jan 2, Jan 9, Jan 16).
MyHingham
The Town of Hingham is excited to launch MyHingham, a new mobile citizen engagement application. The MyHingham App aims to enhance communication, streamline service delivery, and foster a sense of community. Through the user-friendly platform, residents can now conveniently connect with their local government, report issues, and stay informed about important updates right from the palm of their hands.
From your mobile device Download the MyHingham App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or scan the QR code. From a desktop computer or laptop go to Hingham-ma.gov/MyHingham
1st Annual Master Plan Summit
The Hingham Master Plan, adopted in August 2021, includes 7 overarching goals intended to guide decisions about future growth and change based on a shared community vision. The plan also includes more than 135 specific policy recommendations, including several designated to the responsibility of the Select Board.
The Summit on December 7th brought together representatives of all town boards, committees, and staff that are responsible for Master Plan implementation to assess the status of master plan recommendations and consider possible amendments to the Plan if warranted by unforeseen conditions. Please follow the MPIC page to stay up to date on implementation.
