The Town of Hingham Engineering Division will be installing the top course of pavement on the following roads.
- Wompatuck Road (from Kimball Beach Road to Planters Field Lane)
- Planters Field Lane
- Crow Point Lane
All scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions and subject to change. Please be sure to check our Town’s website for any updates to this schedule.
You will experience travel delays during this time and may not have vehicular access to/from your property while the work is in progress. On-street parking will not be permitted from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the days contractors are working in your neighborhood. Vehicles which interfere with this project will be removed. Personal and contractor vehicles should be kept off the roadway. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We request that you be mindful that the asphalt exceeds 300° F when placed and can damage your vehicles' tires if you drive on it before it cools. Cooling to a safe temperature can take over an hour during the hot summer months, so please plan ahead. We will do our best to accommodate your access needs and maintain a safe route of travel throughout construction.
This application of asphalt will complete the asphalt paving process for these roads. The final step in our paving process will occur sometime next summer, with two coats of a 3/16” thick microsurface emulsion. Notice will be provided when that work is scheduled. Additional work on the sidewalks, driveway aprons, loaming and seeding at the edge of road, off-street drainage, and work in the median will continue through the end of this construction season.
If you should have any questions, please call the Department of Public Works at 781 741-1430.
Thank you,
