Update - Construction Notice:
Downer Avenue and Otis Street Intersection will be closed August 22nd from 6:00 am Until 8:00 am. Downer Avenue binder paving August 22
The Town of Hingham has updated scheduling for the paving of the following roadways:
Downer Avenue August 22
Contractors are authorized to mobilize and begin construction activities beginning at 7:00 AM. We will attempt to maintain access to affected properties throughout the duration of work. Typical daily work hours are from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM, but may vary depending on working conditions on a given day.
To best accommodate access throughout the day while Downer Avenue is closed for paving, the town will begin the day by closing the intersection of Downer Avenue and Otis Street. After both courses of binder pavement are placed, compacted and rolled, the intersection will be reopened.
When the work in the intersection is concluded, the contractor will proceed to place binder in Downer Avenue from the limit of the intersection work to the Foster Elementary School Driveway on the north side of the school.
All scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions and subject to change. Please be sure to check our Town’s website for any updates to this schedule.
You may experience travel delays during this time. On-street parking will not be permitted from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, within the vicinity of construction activity.
Please seek guidance from available representatives (Police/DPW/Engineering Staff) that will be onsite during the work. We apologize for any inconvenience.
