The Town of Hingham is committed to supporting Hingham residents and their loved ones recovering from substance abuse disorder.
Toward that end, the Town is accepting grant applications from those motivated to continue to heal their lives after treatment. Our goal is to support and empower individuals as they transition out of drug or alcohol addiction treatment and into recovery, to help them establish a new, healthy lifestyle.
Approved applicants are given a chance to get back on their feet and transition into their new sober life or continue their work in recovery in a safe and successful way without the immediate financial burden of paying rent right after treatment. The grant provides financial assistance for rent, at an approved sober home, for up to eight weeks. Applicants must be in an addiction treatment program and be referred by a case manager or counselor. Applicants must also be actively living in a sober home and able to provide a reference from a recovery coach or sober home manager. The program is open to Hingham residents, or have a parent or guardian living in Hingham.
