4th of July Parade

[ARCHIVED] Planning is in High Gear!

Dear Parade Supporters,

Planning for the Hingham Fourth of July Parade is in high gear. You are cordially invited to be a part of this year’s parade, which will step off on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM.

The Hingham Fourth of July Parade continues to be one of the premier parades of the South Shore with twenty to twenty-five thousand spectators watching this nostalgic slice of Americana! The parade offers a unique opportunity to showcase your organization or business or become a corporate sponsor, while celebrating with the entire community.  The theme of the 2017 parade is “STAR SPANGLED SALUTE”.  Above all else, this is a day to remember the historical significance of our country’s Independence Day and support our armed forces and veterans.

The Parade Committee has always tried to make the parade “children friendly” by having hundreds of children in the parade. We also have hundreds of children watching, so the more effort made to build floats, decorate, and add entertainment value the more impact you will have as a participant.

You must file an application (business, community, and vehicle) to secure your spot in the parade.   Applications and details are now available online on the Town website – the forms can be filled out online, saving both time and paper (the environment!), just follow the instructions.  Don’t forget to write 3 interesting facts about your group!

Business Application

Community & Civic Application

Personal Vehicle Application

All parade entries must be respectful of the significance of this day and theme, and be deemed a suitable fit as a parade entry before being accepted by the Committee.

We look forward to your participation in this year’s parade.
