CONSTRUCTION NOTICE

Streets that will be worked on during the period of October 6 - October 16, 2017


September 21, 2017


To Whom It May Concern:


The Town of Hingham will be repaving the entire length or sections of the following roads during the

period of October 6, 2017 and will continue through October 13, 2017.

  • Lantern Lane (Dead End – Lafayette)
  • Lafayette Avenue (South – Elm)

The exact scheduling dates for each roadway will be dependent on weather conditions. The final

resurfacing will take place at a later date, yet to be determined.


If there are any service/mainline utility upgrades, please notify the Engineering Department

immediately. Please note that after the new pavement surface is laid, street excavations henceforth

will be restricted for a period of at least five (5) years, except in cases of extreme emergency.


This work may take place during early morning hours to minimize any inconvenience this may cause

you. You may experience minor travel delays during this time. On-street parking from 6:00 am to

4:00 pm will not be permitted. We apologize for any inconvenience.

NOTE: The DPW or its’ contractors are not responsible for the replacement of or readjustment of

cobblestones, bricks, landscape borders, cement structures or private underground electrical services

that are placed within the town layout without permission.
