[ARCHIVED] Hingham Recreation - Cancellations and Closed Fields & Playgrounds

The Hingham Recreation Department has cancelled all programs and events until April 7th. This includes our Childcare, fitness classes, East Explorer and our Bunny Breakfast and Egg Hunt.

Additionally, you may have seen “No Trespassing” signs at Hingham Fields and playgrounds. To help prevent the spread of Covid-19, Hingham has closed its playgrounds, outdoor tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, outdoor skateparks, and athletic fields. We ask that everyone respect these closures and please try to follow the recommended guidelines on social distancing, handwashing, and avoiding from gathering in groups larger than 10 people.

We are reviewing registration for upcoming scheduled programs. Wherever possible we will assess the potential for make-up dates and rescheduling. Where this is not possible we will begin to process cancellations and refunds. Additionally, the Recreation Department is reviewing registration timelines for upcoming Summer 2020 programs.

All interviews for summer counselor and volunteer positions are being rescheduled. The Recreation Department will be monitoring emails and is happy to answer any specific questions as we go forward. As this is still a fluid, changing time, we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we sort through these matters.
