[ARCHIVED] Updated COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Guidance

The MA Department of Public Health (DPH) has updated its COVID-19 isolation and quarantine recommendations to be consist with the CDC.  To help you interpret the new guidance, the Hingham Health Department has created a one-page cheat sheet.  It is a fillable PDF that you can use to figure out how long you need to isolate if you have COVID-19.

The cheat sheet also contains information on quarantine for people who are identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. In general, the new quarantine guidance is as follows:

  • A person who has no symptoms and has either a negative PCR or antigen test taken on Day 5 or later, can be released on Day 8 (following 7 days of quarantine).
  • If the person does not have a test and does not have symptoms, they may be allowed to leave quarantine on Day 11 (following 10 days of quarantine).
  • Under either option, the individual must conduct active monitoring of their symptoms through Day 14 and get tested and isolate if they develop any sign of disease.

Hingham’s COVID-19 testing site is now open at 308 Cushing Street from 7:00am to 4:00pm Mondays through Saturdays.  Make an appointment online at https://www.mpathy.org/schedule.  Learn more about how the new testing site will work here.

Please continue to stay vigilant as we head into the winter.  Thank you and stay safe.
