Route 3A / Rotary / Summer Street Corridor
- 2009 Rotary Analysis – Select Board held hearings to discuss alternative improvement plans
- 2013 MassDOT Road Safety Audit in response to neighborhood concerns with safety
- 2014 Town requested a corridor study from the State; study was completed in 2016
- 2015 Town Meeting approved $400,000 for design and permitting
- 2017 Route 3A Task Force created by the Select Board
- 2018 Pilot road diet – data collected during simulated lane reduction from the rotary east to Rockland Street
- 2019 Town Meeting appropriated $195,000 for design and permitting
- 2019 Submission of 25 percent engineering design document to MassDOT
- 2021 Town Meeting appropriated $200,000 additional engineering funds for completion of the design; construction cost estimate of $15.3 million
- 2022 ‘Live Virtual’ Design Public Hearing hosted by MassDOT in January
- 2023 MassDOT has assumed responsibility for design and construction costs through completion
- 2024 New landscape subcontractor Copley Wolff began working on the project
- 2024 GM2 has submitted 75 percent design documents to MassDOT;
- Revised cost estimate for the project approximates $30 million
- Shifted to the 2026 TIP (Transportation Improvement Program) budget
- Plans currently under review by MassDOT; awaiting their comments
