Civic and Business Parade Entry Application

    This Year's Parade Theme is "Together for the 4th". Celebrate Independence Day by participating in the biggest 4th of July Parade in Greater Boston!

    • Return your Application by Friday, June 23, 2023
    • There is no fee for a Community or Civic Organization
    • The Business Registration Fee is $250  Payable to “4th of July Parade Committee” at the time of application.  Mail to:  4th of July Parade Committee, Hingham Town Hall, 210 Central Street, Hingham, MA 02043.

  2. Mandatory Float Safety Meeting - Tuesday, June 27, 2023, 7:00 PM

    All floats must have an adult representative attend the mandatory Float Safety Meeting with the Hingham Police Department.

    • If your float representative does not attend, your float will not participate in the Parade.
    • Other entry types are welcome to send a representative.
    • The meeting will be held at Hingham High School 6/27/23 at 7pm.  Use the Union Street entrance.

    • Antique and novelty vehicles:  Please use the Vehicle Application, not this application.
    • Axle/Wheel Walkers:  Wheel Walkers are required for ALL trucks and flatbeds. No exceptions.
    • Float Height:  Entries must not exceed 13’ 6” in height to avoid utility lines and other hazards.
    • Float Length:  Length is approved by the Parade Committee in consultation with the Hingham Police:  Experience has shown long trailers with extended trucks cannot make Parade route turns.

    I, the undersigned, being fully appraised of all potential harms and dangers connected with the congestion and excitement of the Hingham 4th of July Parade, do hereby discharge, release, absolve, and hold harmless the Town of Hingham, its officers, employees, and agents from any claim or liability incurred by any participation in the parade.


  13. For the safety of the children, do not throw candy.

    Help keep children out of the street and harms’ way:  Hand out candy while walking with your group.  

    Do not put candy on floats or in vehicles where it may be accessed and thrown as this will entice children to run into the parade path and moving vehicles.
