Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

The Town of Hingham Department of Public Works coordinates Hingham's Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collections with the South Shore Recycling Cooperative.  Hingham hosts one collection per year on a Saturday morning in the Spring at the Plymouth River School.  Anyone with proof of Hingham residency may attend this event at no charge.  For dates and time look for signs; check the town website; Hingham Journal; South Shore Recycling Cooperative website; or call the Department of Public Works at 781-741-1430.

Hingham is a member of the South Shore Recycling Cooperative. Verified residents may attend most of the other 10-12 South Shore Recycling Cooperative household hazardous waste collections/year at no charge with an authorization form from the Hingham Department of Public Works (proof of residency will be required).

Accepted hazardous wastes include oil based paints, insecticides/pesticides, and household chemicals. See South Shore Recycling Cooperative website for materials accepted.
