Purpose
The Planning Board created this committee to study the regulatory options to ensure that residential growth and development enhances the character, scale and integrity of the town’s neighborhoods. The committee hopes to make recommendations for zoning amendments or adoption of other design and dimensional controls for the Planning Board to consider advancing at Annual Town Meeting 2026.
Along with resident participants from each single-family residential district, the Subcommittee will consist of representatives designated by the Planning Board, Select Board, Zoning Board, and the Historic Districts Commission.
The Subcommittee welcomes diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and neighborhood identity, and encourages residents who are passionate about engaging and having a voice in the future character of Hingham’s neighborhoods to participate.
